The BHS Lady Tigers split a pair of scheduled games this past week, downing North Greene, in two extended sets 26-24, 26-24 while losing a hard fought match with nearby Triopia. The hometowners also participated in the Brimfield Tournament this past Saturday.
Triopia’s Lady Blue defeated Beardstown in a heated two-set match 25-23, 26-24 last Thursday, and were on the road this past Saturday to participate in the Jerseyville Invite, where they finished fourth in the 8-team tourney.
PORTA/A-C Central played in the Edinburg Tournament last week and finally found their Mo-Jo as they defeated Morrisonville 25-14, 25-1, Illini Central 25-15, 25-10, knocked off the hosts 25-10, 25-17, defeated Greenview 25-8, 25-16, and won over Calvary to win five straight matches before losing in the championship match to North Mac 25-17-25-18. The Lady Jays with the five wins, are now 10-20 for the season.
Sydnee Henry and Kaitlin Throgmorton were selected to the All-Tournament Team.

BHS vs. North Greene
The hometowners finally got off the losing trail as they defeated North Greene in a closely played match by identical scores of 26-24, 26-24. The O&B were able to make it a double win as the JV squad also won 25-22, 25-23.

Brimfield Tourney
Last Saturday the Lady Tigers made the long journey to Brimfield to participate in the Brimfield Tournament. The locals posted a 0-4 record for the tournament.

Jerseyville Tourney
The Lady Trojans traveled to Jerseyville last Saturday and participated in the Jerseyville Invite. The Lady Blue finished 4th among the eight teams entered in the tournament.
They opened up against the host school and lost in two sets 25-16, 25-15. In the second outing of the tourney the Lady Trojans defeated Litchfield in a three game set, losing the first game 21-25, came back to win the second set 25-20, and hung on to win the tie-breaker 16-14. In the third game of the Jerseyville affair they knocked off Staunton in straight sets 25-22, 25-16.
Playing Greenville for the third and fourth place trophy the Lady Trojans went down 21-25, 16-25. Triopia’s season mark now stands at 17-11 overall.
“With the return of Cydney Musch to our lineup, and with our sophomore Kylie McGinnis starting to come around, we have been playing much better as of late. We are just starting to come together as a team and we are playing our best volleyball as we get ready for the post season,” said head coach Kelly Johnson.
