Moves Dance Company’ is fourth business in Beardstown Boost Incubator Project PDF Print E-mail

Beardstown Main Street is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of the 4th business in the Beardstown Boost Incubator Project
Carrie Martin’s, “Moves Dance Company,” will officially open its doors next Wednesday, October 23 at 3 p.m. in the auditorium above La Isla Restaurant, 200 Washington Street in downtown Beardstown.
Carrie Martin, owner, taught at BHS for two years and has been the principal of Beardstown Charter School since 2008. She has been teaching tap, jazz & acrobats since 2002. She is excited to add something for young people into this community.
Her associate, Brooke McGuire is attending college at LLCC majoring in Surgical Technology. She has grown up in Beardstown and started dancing and tumbling when she was 2 1/2. She was on the BHS dance team throughout high school and has been teaching tumbling at the Beardstown Park District since 2008.
Classes are offered in tap & jazz dance, however other types of dance are integrated. Class are available from ages three to seniors in high school. Students will be accepted until November 1.
In May, a dance recital will be held so students can showcase their talents. This year’s theme will be Dancing with Disney. All songs will be from Disney films and television shows. The dancers are planning to perform at next year’s Fall Fun Festival.
