For the first time in over 10 years, the Triopia Trojans failed to make the IHSA playoffs, dropping to 2-5 on the season when they were smacked in the mouth by Camp Point Central 54-12 last Friday night. The No. 3 state-ranked Class 1A Panthers used a 32-0 blitz in the first period enroute to the win.
The Panthers outrushed the Trojans 379-185, and held a commanding 435-265 edge in total yardage. Matt Parker led the Big Blue with 93 yards on 18 carries, while Austin Kramberg led all ball carriers with 148 yards on just three attempts and scored two touchdowns.
CPC scored their first touchdown at 7:26 when Alger Saidana scored on a four-yard run.
Forty-one  seconds later, the Panthers added another touchdown following an interception on a 50-yard pass from QB Cole Phillips to Zach Foote to make it 16-0 at 6:43 of the opening frame. The rout was on when the CPC added their third score of the period on a 45-yard gallop by Kramberg, running the count to 22-0, and finished off the torrid first frame when Bobby Keitz broke loose on a 48-yard run with 1:46 to go.
It was all over but the shouting when Trevor Hennen scored on a one-yard burst to run the score to 39-0 with just 0:55 seconds into the second frame. Kramberg scored his second TD at 4:32 of the second quarter on an 85-yard ramble to pay dirt to make it 46-0 at halftime.
Camp Point Central scored on a two-yarder by Kyle Johnson in the third period to close out the scoring for the Panthers giving them a 54-0 margin.
Both of Triopia’s two scores came in the second half when Tristan Wise made a 50-yard catch on a Nate Shanks 50-yard “bomb” in the third frame, and the final score for the Big Blue came on a run by Matt Parker of five yards.
