The BHS Tiger soccer team had a busy week in which they played Springfield Lanphier last Friday, took on Mt. Pulaski on Saturday and played a very good Lutheran High Crusader team on Monday.
The hometowners knocked off Lanphier by a 6-2 final, won over Mt. Pulaski 4-2 in a shortened session, and came away the 2-1 loser in the BHS-Lutheran High match-up.

BHS vs. Lanphier
The locals won a road contest against the Lanphier Lions at Lee Field by a 6-2 final.
The locals had Lanphier defense on their heeels the entire contest.
“The boys played really hard and played a great game,” said head coach Adam Hamilton.

BHS vs. Mt. Pulaski
Beardstown went on the road again last Saturday, traveling to Mt. Pulaski where the Tigers prevailed with a 4-2 win that was a shortened session due to threatening weather conditions playing just the first half.
Murphy Domitien again paced the O&B with a “hat trick” by scoring three goals. Antonio Celaya had the other goal for the Tigers with Ulises Leon credited with two assists.
“The boys played really good against a good team; we continue to grow as a team,’ concluded Hamilton.

BHS vs. Lutheran
Last Monday night the BHS Soccer Tigers traveled to Springfield to take on Lutheran High the No.1 seed in the QND Regional, and played the vaunted Crusaders to a near standstill before losing in the final four minutes by a 2-1 verdict.
It was a defensive battle throughout the match with the score tied at halftime at 1-1.
The hosts got on the board first at 31 minutes into the first half on a goal by Steven Cowles. The O&B answered right back  with a goal of their own by Murphy Domitien on a great pass from Ulises Leon to tie the game at 1-1.
The game was still knotted at 1-1 until about the 4:35 minute mark, when Lutheran broke the deadlock with the winning goal by Steven Schahi to make it a 2-1 contest.
It was a great match against a top-ranked opponent in the Crusaders
“The boys showed a lot of heart and played extremely hard and with a lot of passion. You could see they really wanted to win this one. I hope we get a chance to play them again, possibly in the class 1A regional,” concluded Hamilton.
