In a contest where the game was marred by the referees calling 170 yards in penalties that included eight unsportsmanlike conduct penalties (5-BHS; 3-Havana), which nearly overshadowed a game in which the score changed hands seven times and was a real shootout with the O&B holding on for a 37-34 win over the hosts Havana Ducks.

Once again Alex Myles put on his “S” cape, establishing himself as a premier running back in this area, accounting for 232 yards in total yardage, scored three touchdowns and led the defense in tackles in helping lead the O&B to a 3-1 mark for the season.
Havana scored first when Jed Vance busted in from two-yards out at 4:12. The opening drive took nearly eight minutes off the clock on 14 plays. The PAT run failed and the Ducks led 6-0.
The Tigers scored quickly on a six-play drive that covered 64 yards following the kickoff scoring with 0:18 seconds left in the first period on an Alex Myles six-yard burst. The PAT kick was no good (but it sure looked good from where I was standing).
It became obvious from the early going that Havana was going to pound the Tigers with a hard running ground attack, while the locals would use the big play offense.
Havana took the lead back at 8:34 of the second frame when Dakota Moog banged in on a 16-yard jaunt. The drive was kept alive by two 15 yard penalties on the Tigers. The Ducks were hit with one unsportsmanlike penalty in the seven-play scoring drive. The PAT failed and the hosts took back the lead at 12-6.
The O&B put together a seven-play scoring drive of their own, with Myles ripping off runs of 16 and 15 yards with D’Ante McWilliams on an end around scoring from 10 yards out. On the run for the PAT the ball was fumbled but Myles alertly picked it up and raced into the end zone for the two-point conversion and a 14-12 Tiger lead with 4:20 left until intermission.
BHS had another scoring opportunity in the first half when a wide open McWilliams dropped a sure TD pass from Gus Vermillion. With only 1:15 left and a fourth and nine, Coach Tyler Buhlig made a bold decision and went for a fake punt that backfired.
Havana took over on downs at the O&B 28 yard line and with 0:42 ticks left, Moog on the second play from scrimmage scored his second TD of the night on a 16 yard breakaway. This put the Ducks back on top 18-14 at the midway break.
The locals took the second half kickoff and marched 75 yards to paydirt in six plays scoring at the 8:07 mark. Myles ripped off 39 yards on three carries, and Vermillion hit McWilliams for 15 yards and Alex Schultz for 13 yards setting up the two-yard touchdown up the middle by Cole Huey. The PAT by Myles was good and the O&B were back on top 22-18.
Once again the Tiger lead was short-lived as the hosts used an 89-yard scoring drive that was aided by two unsportsmanlike penalties on the same play costing the O&B 30 yards. Alex Clancey culminated the drive with a five-yard scamper, giving the hosts the lead 26-22 with 0:20 seconds left in the third period in the back and forth struggle.
The Tigers wasted no time in taking back the lead when Myles gathered in a Vermillion pass on a sensational over the shoulder catch and outran the Havana secondary enroute to a 54-yard touchdown. This put the Tigers on top 30-26 at 11:48 of the final fling.
The fireworks weren’t over yet as the Ducks bounced back with yet another scoring change on a 67-yard drive. Vance hit his tight end over the middle for 36 yards and Clancey finished it off with a one-yard plunge. This put Havana back in the catbird seat 34-30.
The Kardiac Kids showed no quit however, as they took the ball and went 85 yards down the field to score on Myles’ third TD of the night  running the score to 37-34. A 15 yard penalty on Havana moved the ball to the 40, and Huey banged up the middle for 12 yards. Myles then ran for 16, 15, and 8 yards and went over from two yards out for the clincher with 4:32 left on the game clock.
BHS had stopped Havana only twice in the game but they came up with a huge four-play defensive stand against the Ducks that gave the locals back the ball with 2:39 left and the O&B were able to run out the clock.
