The Cass Rural Water District board discussed the results of a special meeting held last month on the districts Sangamon Valley Township annexation project, which the board seeks to bring several sections of the township into its water system. Members of the board met with Bud Mason, state rural development coordinator for the Illinois Association of Community Action Agencies. Board Chairman Jeff Cosner said Mason estimated the project’s cost would be “a couple hundred thousand dollars.” Cosner said possible financing sources were also discussed and that Mason had recommendations for who should be hired as the engineer on the project. The board will begin the selection process.

CRWD has once again experienced high water losses according to Water Superintendent Randy McClure. McClure said he would be checking CRWD’s approximately 60 hydrants as well as the pipes. Cosner asked that any customer who sees evidence of water escaping CRWD lines contact him at (217) 341-2884.
