Dirt Dogs have outstanding season with great many accomplishments PDF Print E-mail

The Central Illinois Dirt Dogs 13U competitive baseball team, centrally located in Springfield, completed their baseball season with a 545-14 overall record. The team played in 12 tournaments during the season which included five championships.
Two players from the Cass County Star-Gazette area were members of the team, Lucas Unland (Beardstown) and Chris Nicholas (Virginia).
Highlights included winning the Triple Crown Sports Omaha SlumpBuster D2 tournament held in Omaha, NE during the College World Series and the team was crowned the AABC Illinois State Champions. Other results included Lenz Field 13U Open Champions, Chillicothe Pre-Season Classic Champions, Chatham Mother’s Day Tournament champions.
They finished second at the GMB Gold Ring Nationals, Lenz Field 13U AAA/Major second place, Lenz Field 13U second    place and Chillicothe St. Jude Brad Wallin fourth place finish out of the 26-team tournament.
The Central Illinois Dirt Dogs were ranked No. 6 by the Amateur Baseball Report for 13U teams in Illinois.
