Virginia Community Center fundraiser a huge success PDF Print E-mail

What a great kick-off to the Virginia Community Center fundraising campaign Saturday night at Dr. Ugs Drugstore Cafe! The Cafe was buzzing as Virginia Square One supporters dined on a fantastic BBQ Rib dinner and listened to the sounds of Stuart Smith, Pete Vredenburgh and Robert Sampson as they played the night away. 105 dinners were sold and that would not have been possible without the help of everyone involved.
Thanks go out to the Virginia Christian Women's Fellowship for their tasty desserts and to Jessica and Kristin for the use of Dr. Ugs and making sure that no one went thirsty. Thanks to Kevin Velten, Ron Harris and Mike Carson for their tenure as waiters and kitchen staff and to Stuart, Robert & Pete for volunteering to provide the music.
A special thanks to Rhiannon Young for coming home to roast those ribs and to all those who attended making this such a successful event. All proceeds will be utilized for the renovation of the old Dime Store building.
More fundraisers are scheduled for this Fall including a charity auction and trivia night along with Chocolate Sundae. If you just can't wait for one of those events, donations can be made anytime at Petefish, Skiles & Co. Bank, P.O. Box 18, Virginia, Illinois. 62691. Together we can make a difference!
If you have items that you would like to donate for the auction in September, you may contact any Virginia Square One board member or call Petefish, Skiles & Co. Bank at 452-3041. Pick up of items is available.
