Country talent search comes to Beardstown PDF Print E-mail

The Texaco Country Showdown, the oldest talent search in country music, is coming to Beardstown on July 27. The Freighthouse, 704 E. 4th Street, will host the competition and currently has registration forms that will be available up until 6 p.m. the night of the show. The talent contest will begin at 7 p.m.  Registration is $20 dollars and is a one-time fee.
Contestants can compete at any of the preliminary locations in the WJVO listening area with the one-time fee. The local finals will be in August at Chapin Big Country Days.
After the finals, the WJVO winner will compete at the State Fair. Finals will be held in the fall in Nashville, Tenn. The grand prize is $100,000.
