Sweatman’s celebrates 65th wedding anniversary PDF Print E-mail

Leland and Norma Sweatman of Virginia, observed their 65th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, June 19.
Leland and Norma (Launer) Sweatman were married June 19, 1948 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bluff Springs. Their attendants were the late Harvey Hendricker and the late Erma Korte.
They are parents of five children: Dennis (Gloria) Sweatman of Washington, Ill.; Marilyn (Mike) Fee of Clinton, Iowa; Diane (Gary) Hish of Virginia; Cheryl (Ed) Trogdon of Lisle, and Roger (Carolyn) Sweatman of Virginia.
They have 11 grandchildren: Jeff (Elizabeth) Sweatman of Charlottesville, Va.; Kelli (Jerod) Ballard of Washington; Amanda (Ryan) Ruppel of Virginia; Nathan (Heidi) Fee of Clinton, Iowa; Renee (Brett) Becker of Pleasant Plains; Miken Trogdon of Chicago; Andrew Sweatman of Virginia; Bret (Jennifer) Hish of Virginia; Zachary Trogdon (fiancee, Abby Travis) of Indianapolis, Ind.; Courtney Sweatman and Justin Sweatman, of Virginia.
They have five great-grandchildren: Ella Gebhardt and Alle Ruppel of Virginia, Nolan and Evan Fee of Clinton, Iowa and Jocilyn Ballard of Washington. They have three stepgrandchildren: Darrien Tillman of Clinton, Iowa and Braiden and Brodie Becker of Pleasant Plains.
Leland farmed in the Virginia area for many years and is now retired. Norma helped on the farm and is a homemaker. In their retirement, they enjoy traveling to antique shows with toys and glassware.
