Star-Gazette photo by Aaron Tebrinke (originally published 12-15-08) Contractors installing new 8-inch water supply lines accidently broke an old, unmapped line last Thursday and created a situation for the residents of Beardstown. The town’s water supply was shut down at 6:15 p.m. Public Works director Todd Harmeyer (l) and his crew finally stopped the leak, checked the water pressure, and turned the water back on around 11 p.m.
